For most of my life, movement has been synonymous with freedom. Whether I was backpacking through the Rocky Mountains, hiking to the floor of the Grand Canyon, traveling the world with my husband, Tom, photographing wildlife, or simply enjoying a walk outdoors, being active has always been central to who I am.

My professional life was equally dynamic. After earning a degree in Sociology, I built a successful career in media production and communications, working with major corporations before launching my own production company. My husband and I have spent decades combining our professional talents with our passion for nature, conservation, photography, and exploration. Today, as published by authors and wildlife photographers living in Leesburg, Virginia, we continue to embrace an active lifestyle filled with creativity and adventure.

When significant pain in my right hip and leg began limiting my mobility, I knew it was time to seek treatment. My orthopedic surgeon, Dr. James Reeves recommended StoneSprings Hospital Center as the location for my hip replacement surgery.

Although I was experiencing considerable discomfort before the procedure, I felt confident about my care and looked forward to walking comfortably and pain-free again. From the moment I arrived at StoneSprings, I was impressed by the professionalism and attention to detail demonstrated by every member of the team.

One thing that stood out immediately was clear communication. Throughout every stage of my care, team members made sure I understood exactly what would happen next. They carefully reviewed my procedure, verified important details, and answered every question with patience and clarity. Those conversations gave me confidence and peace of mind leading up to surgery.

Several individuals made a lasting impression. Nurse Anne Connor, RN and Joint Navigator, helped resolve a scheduling issue and guided me through the process with expertise and compassion. Nurse Kelly and her team conducted a thorough pre-surgical evaluation, ensuring that every step was clearly explained and thoughtfully delivered. On the day of surgery, Nurse Ken provided a warm, reassuring intake experience, taking the time to answer my questions and helping me feel comfortable and prepared.

What impressed me most was how seamlessly the care team worked together. Every transition—from registration to pre-operative care, surgery, and recovery—was coordinated and clearly communicated. I always knew who was caring for me and what to expect next.

Now, just four weeks after surgery, I am nearly pain-free and already seeing remarkable progress. I'm walking independently around my home and enjoying longer walks through my neighborhood. Recently, my husband and I spent time walking together at Morven Park in Leesburg, navigating uneven gravel paths while enjoying the outdoors once again. Moments like these remind me how much of my life I am getting back.

For anyone considering care at StoneSprings Hospital Center, I would want them to know that they will be treated by a team that is professional, reliable, compassionate, and committed to excellent outcomes. The staff and facilities are exceptional, and every aspect of care is delivered with clarity, courtesy, and efficiency.

StoneSprings Hospital Center is a state-of-the-art healthcare facility staffed by dedicated professionals who consistently provide the highest quality care. I am deeply grateful to everyone who played a role in my recovery and helped me return to the active lifestyle that means so much to me.
