Midwifery
Midwives are professionals who aid in the processes of labor, delivery and postpartum care. Midwifery minimizes the level of medical intervention during pregnancy and delivery, though midwives can still be present during a hospital delivery.

Our midwifery services
The primary focus of our CNMs is to provide individualized maternity care so you can focus on your birth plan.
What is a midwife?
Our midwives are typically registered nurses or nurse practitioners with advanced training or master's training in female reproductive health and childbirth. As nurses, midwives may offer prenatal care, childbirth services and post-delivery care, all with the goal of using low-intervention and natural techniques. A midwife may also provide routine well-woman care outside of pregnancy.
Midwifery is a vital component of our maternity services, and our team is committed to providing exceptional women's care. As a result, our maternity department has earned Healthgrades' Excellence Award.
CNMs also offer education and support during your pregnancy to help prepare you for the hard work of labor and delivery. This includes guidance on contractions, laboring at home and knowing when to come to the hospital. As much as possible, we align our care to your delivery plan to give you a memorable experience.
