Our digestive health services
Your doctor will work with you to evaluate your symptoms and determine which care plan is best for you. We offer a wide range of treatments, both surgical and nonsurgical, and specialize in endoscopic procedures.
Acid reflux and GERD treatments
Acid reflux is a chronic condition in which stomach acid or bile flows into the food pipe and irritates the lining. Frequent acid reflux and heartburn, typically exceeding twice a week, may indicate GERD. In many cases, a change in diet, combined with the right medications, can control the symptoms of acid reflux.
GERD develops when chronic acid reflux goes untreated. Its symptoms include heartburn, acid reflux or acid indigestion. Left untreated, the condition can lead to a more serious health condition, such as esophageal cancer. Treatment to manage GERD typically includes diet, lifestyle changes and medication.
GERD surgery
If you have severe GERD and medical treatments have been unsuccessful, we offer surgical options. Most of these procedures are minimally invasive, such as Nissen fundoplication. During that procedure, your surgeon repairs the esophageal valve or corrects hiatal hernias to prevent acid reflux.
Colorectal surgery
Our colonoscopy doctors use advanced technology, innovative therapies and minimally invasive options to treat colon, rectal and anal cancer. Some of our procedures include:
- Endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR)
- Laparoscopic colon and rectal surgeries
- Large colon polyp resection
- Restorative proctocolectomies
- Small tumor ablation
We also collaborate with other specialists, including gynecologic surgeons, to perform:
- Pelvic floor reconstruction
- Rectal prolapse repairs
- Vaginal prolapse repairs
Endoscopy
Endoscopy is a minimally invasive, outpatient procedure that allows doctors to examine the esophagus, stomach and intestines. During the procedure, a flexible tube (endoscope) with a light and camera attached provides real-time imaging. The endoscope will be inserted orally for an upper GI procedure and rectally for a lower GI procedure.
We offer these endoscopic procedures:
- Colonoscopy
- Endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP)
- Lower GI endoscopy
- Upper GI endoscopy
