Dave Galimba, RN, BSN

We are proud to recognize Dave Galimba, RN, BSN, a full-time Preop nurse in the OR at StoneSprings Hospital, as our latest DAISY Award recipient. In just a few short months, Dave has made a lasting impression on both patients and colleagues through his compassion, professionalism, and dedication to exceptional care.

Dave was nominated by a grateful patient who underwent surgery in June. While the patient praised the entire care team, he highlighted Dave’s extraordinary support during discharge. The patient was sent home with a catheter and shared how Dave took the time to thoroughly explain the care process to both him and his wife — going so far as to allow them to record a demonstration for reference.

“He did not rush us or act like he was pressed for time. Throughout, he was calming, friendly, and very understanding that we had never done this before,” the patient wrote. “He is first-rate. He was well trained and mentored.”

Dave’s ability to provide not only expert clinical care but also emotional reassurance during a vulnerable moment exemplifies the spirit of the DAISY Award. His actions reflect the values we hold dear at StoneSprings — compassion, excellence, and patient-centered care.
