Adult Mental health and wellness
You shouldn't accept depression, anxiety or severe mental health issues as "a part of life." Getting the right diagnosis and treatment are the first steps to healing.

Our adult behavioral health programs
Our approach to treatment is effective because we rely on multidisciplinary teams and offer both inpatient and outpatient programs. This enables us to diagnose and treat you and your symptoms.
Adult mental health treatments
We work with you to help stabilize your symptoms, understand your diagnosis and develop a treatment plan tailored specifically to you and your condition. All of our programs include four, evidence-based features:
- Psychoeducation — to understand mental illness causes and effects
- Psychotherapy — to enhance self-awareness and improve emotional well-being
- Expressive therapy groups — to allow you to better communicate
- Psychopharmacology — to aid in treatment with medication, when needed
With these components, our highly structured adult mental health care programs feature a range of treatment options. This includes psychological and educational groups, electroconvulsive therapy and alternative (expressive) therapies, such as music and art therapy.
Our process focuses on support from recovery through goal-setting, gender-specific issues, medication education, planning for life after discharge and other topics relevant to your individual circumstances. We provide both inpatient and outpatient services, and we strive to place you in the least restrictive environment possible.
Adult inpatient mental health treatment
Our inpatient mental health treatment is provided for adults 18 years old and older. Patients will have ongoing medication monitoring, medication administration and 24/7 access to psychiatrists and nursing staff.
We will also put an aftercare plan in place to avoid rehospitalization. This plan may include participating in our partial hospitalization and outpatient mental health services to ease the transition back into the community.
Eating disorder treatment
We offer a special program and facility for patients with eating disorders at our Reflections Eating Disorder Treatment Center. Here, we provide individualized treatment plans for eating disorders as well as co-occurring issues, such as substance abuse, anxiety and depression. We provide patients eating disorder treatment at the inpatient and partial hospitalization (day program) levels of care.
Intersect program for dual diagnosis
When substance abuse occurs along with a mental illness, the combination is known as dual diagnosis. Our dual diagnosis treatment program, Intersect, serves adults and adolescents. Intersect is rooted in a recovery model of individualized, clinically driven and evidence-based care. Our goal is to treat the individual as a whole, addressing symptoms of both substance use and mental illness. Intersect also offers care at the outpatient level.
Trauma disorder treatment
Our TraumaSci Complex Trauma Disorders Program consists of a 10-bed adult inpatient unit that provides a nurturing environment for patients in a crisis. This program specifically targets issues such as PTSD, complex trauma and dissociation or sleep disorders stemming from physical, emotional or sexual trauma. You can also receive trauma care at the outpatient level.
Adult outpatient mental health treatment
Our adult outpatient program is called Choices. Both our partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient programs are rooted in evidence-based clinical practice. Our goal is to build the practical skills needed to thrive while at home, work and in your community. We focus on crisis stabilization, symptom management, positive coping strategies and fostering social support.
Adult partial hospitalization program (PHP)
Our adult PHP combines a highly structured environment during the day with the opportunity to spend evenings at home. You benefit from care plans that integrate elements of three evidence-based treatment models:
- Cognitive behavior therapy (CBT)
- Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT)
- Seeking safety
PHP peer-group meetings
Our educational and therapeutic peer-group meetings are provided three days a week. We also offer special events and opportunities to practice self-sufficiency behaviors.
Our group meetings include:

- Community meeting — Nursing staff will meet with you at the beginning and end of the day to complete worksheets that highlight treatment goals, obstacles, accomplishments and concerns.
- Dual diagnosis (DD) group — This group explores substance abuse and offers support using a 12-step approach. Participation in this group is ordered by a physician after consultation with the treatment team.
- Health education and wellness — This nursing education group provides you with tools to manage and recover from your illnesses, plan for transitioning outside of hospital care and develop coping skills so you can live a healthier life.
- Mood management — This group is an emotion-processing group combined with psychoeducational components to help you once you have stabilized.
- Nutrition group — This group focuses on healthy living and making the best diet choices to maintain overall health.
- Pharmacy group — This group includes education on psychiatric medications and lets you ask the pharmacist questions relating to medication.
- Safe Actions for Everyone (SAFE) — You will attend this group during their first five days in the program. This group focuses on learning crisis management skills to support and increase stabilization.
- Success Life Skills (SLS) — This is a psychoeducation group that focuses on broad-based skill building to help you manage self-identified problem areas.
