About Reston Imaging Center
At our imaging center in Reston, Virginia, we evaluate, treat and offer a range of screening, diagnostic and image-guided procedures for your health needs.
Medical imaging services we offer
As an extension of Reston Hospital Center, our imaging team comprises board-certified physicians, radiologists, interventional radiologists and support specialists. Our team uses the latest advancements in imaging and radiology services to diagnose and treat your condition.
Our outpatient imaging services include:
Computerized tomography (CT) scans
A CT scan, also referred to as a computerized axial tomography (CAT) scan, uses X-rays to produce detailed images of the body's organs, bones, soft tissues and blood vessels. CT scans may be used to guide biopsies and detect:
- Blood clots
- Broken bones
- Cancers
- Heart disease
- Internal bleeding
Our center offers the cutting-edge, 64-slice CT scan and a large, open scanner with tumor localization technology. These technologies provide the highest level of accuracy in radiotherapy.
Fluoroscopy
Fluoroscopy uses X-rays to create real-time, moving pictures of structures within the body. The ability to see the images in real-time allows for increased accuracy for diagnoses and procedures.
Ultrasound
An ultrasound uses high-frequency sound waves to produce video images of soft tissues, such as in the cardiovascular, gastrointestinal or reproductive areas. Ultrasounds are often used during prenatal care to examine and produce images of the fetus.
X-ray
An X-ray uses a small dose of radiation to produce images of the body. X-rays are especially helpful in diagnosing bone and joint injuries, but they can also be used to detect an infection, tumor or fluid in the lungs.
